A striking example of 19th-century Anglo-Indian artistry, this hand carved ‘peg table’( fondly nicknamed for resting your peg of whisky on ) features a trefoil hardwood top, intricately worked with a dense pattern of leaves, berries, and flowering branches. The deep carving creates a richly textured surface that captures light and shadow while the top rests on a traditional folding base crafted for portability during the Colonial era, a hallmark of Anglo-Indian design.
