This exceptional temple jar from Jingdezhen is hand-painted in rich cobalt blue with scenes depicting the revered Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology. Each figure is rendered with expressive brushwork and surrounded by symbolic elements. The domed lid is topped with a sculpted foo dog, a traditional guardian symbol.
