19th Century Italian Carved Jardinière Stand – Veneto, Circa 1880

A magnificent example of Italian Renaissance Revival craftsmanship, this late 19th-century jardinière stand is richly carved in solid hardwood and exudes the architectural gravitas of the period. The rectangular case features a stepped moulded edge above a panelled frieze adorned with deeply carved foliate scrolls and rondeaux motifs. The jardinière retains its original removable metal liner with handles, designed to house floral arrangements or greenery.
