Henry Salt - Ruins of the Fort at Junapore on the River Goomtee

Part of a collection of exceptional artworks of 18th century India and Ceylon by Henry Salt (1780–1827).

Born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, Salt trained under leading artists including John Glover and Joseph Farington. As secretary and draughtsman to Viscount Valentia, he toured India, Ceylon, Ethiopia and Egypt producing a detailed visual history of his travels.
